Handmade in a small Andean village in South America, this small round sauté dish is suitable for cooking on the hob as well as in the oven. The techniques used to make it date back over 700 years, with a large flat lamina of clay, like a pancake, being placed over an upturned mould and then trimmed round the edges. Making the handles requires considerable skill and each potter finishes them slightly differently. With a diameter of about 20 cm (26 cm across the handles), the dish has a capacity of about 800 ml.
