Description
Wide Neck Urn – Tierra Negra. Handcrafted Colombian Black Pottery. tierra negra® tableware and cookware has been made in the same way for centuries. Most of the designs follow traditional lines although every potter making them introduces slight variations in shape and size.
Each Tierra Negra pot is individually shaped and burnished by hand before being fired at high temperatures. This unique process creates its signature matte black finish—completely free from artificial glazes or chemicals—ensuring a 100% natural, non-toxic cooking surface.
Perfect for slow-cooking, braising, or simmering, the material evenly distributes heat, allowing flavours to develop beautifully. Whether you’re making stews, soups, casseroles, or even baking bread, its oven, stovetop, microwave, and open-flame safe design makes it an indispensable kitchen essential.
Over time, the pot develops a natural patina that enhances its non-stick properties, making it easy to clean. Unlike modern cookware, it requires minimal maintenance—simply wash with warm water and avoid harsh detergents to preserve its integrity.
For over 30 years, Tierra Negra has been bringing the beauty of South American black terracotta pottery to homes across the UK. We are a small, family-owned company and are immensely proud of the products we have been shipping across to the UK.
As each piece is hand crafted, some variation in appearance and size will occur. Please click here for further details.
